Artist's Comments

*Edit* Sorry for the repost... But I updated the image. This one has much better contrast.*

This piece is a lot more complex that it looks. It looked really bad when I was finished with it, so I cut off the top at an angle, polished it, and then added a battuto technique to the side.

It's a three hour piece. A cane pickup incalmo switch axis... After I battutoed the sides and cut the top it looked much MUCH better. I quite like it now!

It's about 16" tall

Ugly duckling by ~LaughingTree is a wonderful example of elegant form and design in a supercooled liquid. (Featured by `sapphiretiger)

It used to be ugly. It's now blossomed into a beautiful swan! hehehe

But I assure you, when it first came out of the annealer... It was pretty bland.

Welcome.

Haven't sent any slides out yet. Last week I suddenly got a job with a package design company. Toy Fair NY's coming and they're in desperate need of design help. But since they're in crunchtime, I've been working 10hr. days. But it pays well.

What's a sign of a good glass-blowing class?
